As a neat little diffuser that has a gigantic impact on the quality of the light from a hotshoe flash unit, the Hähnel Lantern creates a dramatically wide spread of soft illumination.
Make the transition to FF....or not
Hi All,
I have a decision to make without enough information to be truly informed. I have never owned a ff camera (if you don't count film). I have been happy with my APS-C kit as I was into birds, especially hummingbirds. Over the past couple of years, I have transitioned into landscapes, both near and far. I understand that an APS-C system is wonderful for birds, while not quite as good for scenes. I am truly tempted to trade in my current kit (see below) for a Z-6 and a couple of lenses.
In full disclosure, I am not a pro; I do not make a living taking photographs. I am just a...hobbyist who enjoys the whole process. I say this to apply perhaps a value component to possible recommendations.
What do you guys think?
Thanks : )

Vaporware no more: the much-speculated-about Zeiss ZX1 has arrived. Combining a 37MP full-frame sensor, minimalist controls and Lightroom Mobile built in, it's a refreshing – if a bit quirky – take on the smartphone-meets-camera concept.
The Leica Q2 Monochrom is a version of the Gold Award-winning Q2 that only shoots images in black and white. It's a niche (and pricey) product to be sure, but so far we find it to be well-designed and capable of outstanding results.
